Various Flowers from St. Pierre & Miquelon

These stamps were issued by St. Pierre & Miquelon on 24th April, 1962. These are two small groups of islands off the southern coast of Newfoundland. Once a French Colony, now a department of France.

The stamps with 25F & 50F values were issued for domestic postage and the stamp with 100F value was issued for the use of Air Post. All of these stamps were printed by engraving method and hence command a very high catalog value.

The lower values, shows different species of orchids and the higher value stamp shows a carnivorous plant known as a Pitcher Plant.

Fragrant Roses from India

This miniature sheet was issued on 7th February, 2007 by India. There was even a sheetlet issued showing the stamps.

These stamps have fragrant smell of Roses. This was the second issue from India having fragrant smell. The first one was with the smell of Sandal Wood.

Different, local cultivars of Roses are displayed in the stamps.

Varieties of Roses from Monaco

This is a booklet pane, containing a set of 12 stamps issued by Monaco on 24th October, 1995. There are 12 different varieties of Roses displayed in the stamps.

This set of stamps depicting roses are in commemoration of the Princess Grace Rose Garden in Monaco, opened in 1984. This garden is famous for its, very large variety of roses. The garden houses a total of some 4,000 rose trees. There are about 150 varieties of rose plants from all over the world. Visitors come to see the special variety of European and American roses. During the blooming season you can smell the fragrance of these flowers.

The stamps were printed by the use of lithography and having a perforation of 13.5. The botanical name for roses is Rosa under the family Rosaceae.

This Miniature sheet was issued on 4th October, 2003 by Canada. This issue was released in a joint cooperation along with Thailand commerating the Bangkok International Philatelic Exhibition held in 2003.

The stamps shows the National Emblems of these countries. The Maple Leaf is the National Emblem of Canada and Cassia Fistula is of Thailand.

Peony Flower Festival from Isle Of Man

This sheetlet of 8 stamps was issued by Isle of Man on 10th April, 2009. The stamps represents the Peony Flower.

Isle of Man, participated in the stamp exhibition in Luoyang, China and produced these stamps accordingly. Luoyang is considered as the capital of Peony in the world. Every year an exhibition is held for 30 days displaying a wide variety of the flowers.

This is a registered cover from a Malaysian state to another. This cover was posted from Kuala Lumpur, Penang to Kota Bharu, Kelatan with a registration done with no. 7695 at Kuala Lumpur.

The cover was posted on the 3rd November, 1966 and was received the next day on 4th November, 1966 at Kelatan.

The stamps affixed are a set of seven different species of Orchids been released on 15th November, 1965 by Malaysia.

This set of 2 stamps and a miniature sheet was issued on 25th April, 1988 by Belgium.

The Miniature Sheet was issued on 15th September, 1958 by Hungary. The stamps shown on the miniature sheet is a part of the stamps issued on 12th August, 1958. The sheet was issued for the International Philatelic Congress held at Brussels.

The important thing about the sheet is that the stamps printed on it are in different colours. The sheet measures 111x111mm and is printed on unwatermarked, linen-finish paper. Back-ground of stamps, marginal inscriptions and ornaments in green.

Mei Flowers from China

Mei flowers on stamps from China used on registered cover. These 6 stamps were released on the 5th April, 1985 by The People's Republic of China.

Mei flower is botanically known as Prunus mume and commonly called the Chinese plum. The flowers were orginally found in China and later brought to other places in East Asia. The tree flowers only in late winters and in Eastern Asia only.

New Definatives of Singapore, flower embroidered in Stamp

These stamps and the miniature sheet were issued by Singapore on 6th May, 2009. These are the new and current definatives of Singapore.

The stamps show the flowers:
The Blue Pea Vine - also commonly known as the Butterfly Pea, is a vine native to tropical and equitorial Asia. A perinial climber with a woody base, it can climb tall grasses and crops. Now it is widely grown as an ornamental plant. The flowers are harvested and are a traditional source of a blue food colour.

The Pigeon Orchid - is the member of the family Orchidaceae. This orchid produces white fragrant flowers with a yellow tinted throat. From the side, the orchid resembles a flying pigeon, and hence, it is also commonly known as The Pigeon Orchid. It is a widely cultivated ornamental and landscape plant.

The Miniature Sheet shows a Pigeon Orchid embroidered in the centre of the stamp. The printing process used in the sheet is Offset Lithography with Embroidery.
